    YCP Detroit Executive Speaker Series is a free event every last Wednesday of the month in which executives share their professional and faith journeys with young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s, challenging them to ‘Work in Witness for Christ!’ Complimentary beer, wine, and appetizers are provided before and after the speaker.

    Ludvik (Lud) F. Koci has served on the Boards of Directors of a number of significant for-profit organizations such as Detroit Diesel, Penske Corporation, and Wabash Trailer. He was also a member of the Board of the American Trucking Research Institute. Koci has also served charitable organizations such as Mary’s Children Family Center, Orchard Lake Schools including SS Cyril and Methodius Seminary and St. Mary’s Prep, Focus: HOPE, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YMCA, and local parishes.

    Koci worked at Detroit Diesel Corporation for many years—he held the position of Executive Vice President and later President, Vice Chairman, and CEO.  He was Vice President of Daimler Corporation where he led commercial engine development. Koci was President of Penske Transportation Components LLC and a Director of Penske Corporation. Today, he is a consultant to the Penske Board.

    Koci is a member of the Cardinal Club of Detroit and Legatus. He is a Knight of the Order of Malta and a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.  Koci has lectured at a number of schools and universities on subjects of business, values, and ethics. Lud has been married for sixty years to wife, Trudy, and they have eight children, five of whom were adopted from four nations.

    Executive Panel Discussions are quarterly events focused on living virtuously in the workplace. Three panelists lead discussion about a particular virtue and what it means to practice that virtue in daily life. The topic for this quarter is Prudence: Living in Moderation in Our Society. Afterwards, table leaders bring the discussion down to the individual level. At the end of the evening, a representative from each table shares their collective insights with the rest of the group.
